jthedering c692f0639b Improved: Updated to Visual Studio 2019 and Qt 5.15.2. Running Equalizer APO requires Universal CRT now, which means that Windows versions before 10 may need additional Windows updates or the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 - 2019 needs to be installed (installer provides assistance). 2021-06-08 19:04:18 +00:00
jthedering e2d3da7a9e Added: Logical operator "not" to expression language (see e.g. If and Eval commands). 2019-06-09 20:48:45 +00:00

jthedering 2997d2151c Fixed: When removing a row with embedded VST plugin, the Configuration Editor crashed.
Fixed: Analysis panel was not always working correctly when the loudness correction was active, especially on single-core systems.
Fixed: Font of attribution in loudness correction GUI was too small.

jthedering a3cb12ff8a Fixed: Crash during initialization of GraphicEQ/Convolution filters when loading the configuration in multiple threads concurrently. This occurred most often when using GraphicEQ both for playback and capture devices.
Improved: Updated FFTW to version 3.3.6-pl2.

jthedering ce857887af Added: Loudness correction filter by Alexander Walch that adjusts shelving filters based on the system volume. Also includes a GUI that allows calibration using a test sound. 2017-07-17 19:22:59 +00:00
jthedering a78542ef0d Fixed: Formatting after delete[]. A recent version of Uncrustify is needed for the new uncrustify.cfg. 2017-06-18 19:04:27 +00:00
jthedering 6f1409419f Improved: Moved common files from Visual C++ projects to separate project Common. 2017-06-18 12:51:26 +00:00
jthedering a24eaa0cd9 Added: VST Plugin support. Add and configure plugins via Configuration Editor. The plugin's architecture has to match the OS architecture, so most people will need 64-bit plugins. The subdirectory plugins is offered to put plugins into, but they can be opened from any directory with sufficient permissions.
Fixed: When trying to add a high-pass filter in the Configuration Editor, it was instead configured to be a low-pass filter.

jthedering 989812ba36 Added: Voicemeeter audio processing support. When Voicemeeter is installed, it can be selected in the Configurator. 2017-03-12 12:53:24 +00:00
jthedering f014bf4b7d Fixed: When a file was selected for the Include command in the Configuration Editor that was not readable by the audio service, no warning appeared.
Fixed: When the Include command was used to load the configuration file itself or another file including the file, Equalizer APO could crash. The recursion depth is now limited to 100.

jthedering 57e8158efd Improved: Switched to stricter code formatter (Uncrustify) for better consistency across all source files. 2015-11-23 21:17:34 +00:00
jthedering 0895d84055 Added: Analysis panel which shows the calculated frequency response of the filters for the selected device and channel.
Improved: GUIs of GraphicEQ and Copy command can now be resized
Improved: GraphicEQ GUI can now be zoomed separately in X and Y direction using mouse wheel on rulers. Also now shows values at mouse position.
Fixed: Original APO was not released when E-APO was shutting down, leading to a memory leak.

jthedering b8cdd47f71 Version 1.0
Added: Configuration Editor, which allows to edit configurations in a graphical user interface. Contains GUIs for most commands supported by E-APO, but as lines can also be edited directly, all commands can be used.
Added: Command "GraphicEQ", which can act as a regular, fixed-band graphic equalizer (via the GUI) but also supports variable bands so that any desired frequency response can be specified. Internally, it is implemented via convolution with a generated IR.
Added: Command "Convolution", which allows to convolve the signal with a user-provided impulse response to achieve e.g. equalization or reverberation effects.
Improved: Configurator performs checks for registry values that are needed for the operation of E-APO, which may be changed by driver installations, fixing the values if necessary.
Improved: Configurator shows which is the default device as a hint to the user.

jthedering d68b958bc8 Improved: Parametric filter calculations (command "Filter") are now fully using double precision. This yields a great improvement in signal-to-noise ratio for practically no performance penalty.
Fixed: The method BiQuad::gainAt was returning wrong values. As this method was only used for testing purposes, this change is not user-visible.

jthedering d81193521b Version 0.9.2
Added: New troubleshooting options have been added to the Configurator that can be tried in case of problems.
Improved: E-APO is now normally always installed as LFX/GFX, also in Windows 8.1 and later, to avoid problems with some applications bypassing SFX/MFX APOs (e.g. Skype).
Fixed: If the input channel count was higher than the output channel count and there was no child APO, Equalizer APO could crash during initialization.
Fixed: If a file in the config path was only renamed (not modified), the configuration was not reloaded.

jthedering 3d234120f6 Fixed: ElseIf/Else sections were executed although the corresponding If evaluated to true 2014-10-18 11:34:53 +00:00
jthedering 90ee2b0aa9 Version 0.9
Added: Filter type "IIR", which allows to specify a user-defined IIR filter of arbitrary order with custom coefficients.
Improved: For playback devices, the APO is now installed both as GFX (post-mix) and LFX (pre-mix) APO. Normally the filtering happens in GFX, but the command "Stage" allows to select LFX to apply effects based on the number of input channels.
Added: Expression language. The commands "If", "ElseIf", "Else", "EndIf", "Eval" and inline expressions allow to change the filter behaviour based on runtime conditions.
Added: Command "Copy", which copies audio data between channels.
Added: Command "Delay", which delays the audio on the currently selected channels.
Improved: Configuration files are now locked exclusively for writing while reading them.
Improved: There is now a transition (10 ms) from old to new configuration after loading.
Improved: Substantial internal restructuring to improve extensibility and maintainability. Filtering commands now work exactly in the order they were specified.
Fixed: When the microphone input was in stereo but the application requested a mono stream, the audio was heavily distorted.
Fixed: The sine sweep generated by the Benchmark application had floating-point precision issues leading to severe artifacts when certain filters were applied.
